The Mission of Lakeplace Retreat Center is:

“to provide highly structured chemical dependency care in the least costly, least restrictive, non-institutional manner possible, consistent with the individualized needs of persons we have an opportunity to serve”.

Lakeplace Retreat Center Inc. opened its doors in 1989 as a place for men and women from Riverplace Counseling Center of Anoka Minnesota to participate in a 4th and 5th Step Retreat. There was no charge for this additional Riverplace service. Eventually over eighteen thousand Riverplace clients enjoyed the opportunity to visit this beautiful facility.

In 2006 Lakeplace became licensed as a DHS Rule 31 facility.

Provided by The Fellowship Foundation, The Lakeplace Retreat Center is a family owned business operated by three generations, as well as a dedicated staff, all sharing their strength, hopes, and experiences.  Located on a remote lake in Northern Minnesota, all living facilities are surrounded by acres of birch, pine, and hardwoods.  Lakeplace is an ideal setting providing a non-institutional atmosphere reminiscent of a resort where time for reflection, fellowship, and sober recreation is a key element.

The mission of The Fellowship Foundation is “To dedicate this place for use by newly recovering chemically dependent individuals, their concerned persons, and those from non-profit groups such as AA, The Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission and other organizations for those they serve who may benefit from gathering in a resort or retreat like setting.”

Lakeplace is especially privileged to have participation from several excellent speakers and Professional Associates who, along with Lakeplace staff all add an additional dimension to the already high quality of primary CD care. An extensive video library dealing with chemical dependency and related topics is also available. Recommendations to help assure the likelihood of continued recovering, based on six significant dimensions, are carefully communicated in a timely manner to Rule 25 assessors, other concerned agencies, the courts, managed care organizations, case managers and interested others.
